Zits, dances and Green Day
So my oldest son is growing up and there's nothing I can do about it.
He's going to the Valentines Dance at school... his first. It breaks my heart.
Just this month he started getting zits. Ug.
I find myself burning CD's from his MP3 player play list.
I'm saying things to him like "When I was your age..."
We've hit a turning point. I'm afraid there's no going back. It's going to take me a little bit of time to be okay with this.
Today, a fellow employee brought in her 2 wk old baby so we could get a peek at the perfection ... I made a comment about "before you know it they're going to middle school" and tears welled up in my eyes and I had to make a quick escape...

my daughter is almost through
the 8th grade. zits. periods.
casual conversations about sex, because it is what she is studying in health. And also, I just want her aware that she has control of herself, no one else.
and it's all so bittersweet.
I am loving the young lady she is becoming, amazed actually.
but, it makes me sad too.
when I pull her into my lap...and she drawfs me under her. It makes me realize all to clearly...she is getting too big for the nest, and the day is soon coming that I will see her fly.
I am not helping much, sorry.
anyway....I hope he enjoyes the dances. My daughter loves them,
and I am ok with that part, because I loved them too! :)
